BUYING FAQBuying phones, laptops & accessories FAQs
Useful answers about current prices, stock, condition, compatibility, warranty, Bristol collection and selling your old device.
Ask Before You Buy
Are the prices and stock on this website current?+
Product cards read their price and stock status from the current WooCommerce catalogue. Prices and availability can change, so the individual product page and checkout are the definitive information at the time you order.
What do Grade A, Grade B and Grade C mean?+
A grade describes cosmetic appearance, not that a pre-owned device is new. Read the exact listing and photographs for marks, screen condition and included items; product-specific information takes priority over a general grade description.
What battery health should I expect from a used phone?+
Battery condition varies by individual unit, model and age. Check the product listing for any battery information provided and ask about the exact unit before collection if battery health materially affects your decision.
Are your refurbished phones unlocked?+
Network status should be confirmed on the individual listing or with the store before purchase. Do not assume every used phone is unlocked solely because another device of the same model is.
What is included with a pre-owned phone or laptop?+
Included accessories can vary. Check the listing for the charger, cable, box or other items supplied with that exact product and ask before ordering if an item is essential.
Is a warranty included with a refurbished device?+
Qualifying devices include the warranty stated on the listing or sales documentation. Warranty does not cover new accidental, liquid or misuse damage and does not replace statutory consumer rights.
How do I choose the correct charger for my phone or laptop?+
Check the device connector, required charging standard, supported wattage and whether a compatible cable is included. For laptops, the voltage and USB-C Power Delivery requirements can be especially important.
Do I need USB-C, Lightning or Micro-USB?+
Use the connector on the exact device, not only the brand name. Product generations can use different ports. Bring the device or model number to the store if you cannot identify the connector confidently.
Is a higher-wattage charger automatically faster?+
No. Charging speed is limited by the device, charger, cable and the charging standard they share. A larger headline wattage does not guarantee that a particular phone or laptop can use it.
What do USB Power Delivery and PPS mean?+
USB Power Delivery is a charging standard used by many USB-C devices; PPS is an adjustable-power feature used by some fast-charging devices. Check that the device, charger and cable support the required standard rather than relying on the plug shape alone.
What should I check when buying a charging cable?+
Check both connector ends, length, data-transfer requirement and supported power. Higher-power USB-C charging can require a suitably rated cable, while some low-cost cables are intended mainly for basic charging.
How do I choose a screen protector that fits?+
Match the exact device model and screen shape. Check case compatibility and whether the protector affects an in-screen fingerprint sensor, camera cut-out or touch response where those features apply.
Which price applies if a product price changes?+
Use the price shown on the individual product page and confirmed through the cart or checkout for the order you place. A screenshot, search result or older cached page may not reflect a later catalogue update.
Does “in stock” mean it is at both Bristol stores?+
Not necessarily. Website stock can cover the current catalogue while branch allocation varies. Confirm the exact model, colour, storage or accessory with Union Street or Gloucester Road before a time-sensitive collection.
How will I know when a collection is ready?+
Wait for the relevant order or store confirmation before travelling. A stock enquiry or basket does not by itself guarantee that the item has been reserved at a particular branch.
What if a product or accessory develops a fault?+
Contact the team with the receipt or order reference and a clear description of the issue. The item may need inspection so the appropriate remedy can be confirmed under the applicable warranty and consumer-law terms.
